The Marathon was conceived as a flagship national platform capable of mobilising citizens, Government, development partners and the private sector around a shared vision of peace and prosperity.
Its deeper purpose extends beyond race day.
Net surpluses generated through the Event are intended to strengthen the institutional capacity of IPES Zambia, enabling the Institute to expand research, deliver professional training, facilitate policy dialogue and support youth leadership.
The Marathon therefore represents an investment in knowledge.
Every kilometre run contributes towards building an institution designed to serve generations to come.
Beyond the Finish Line
To many people, a marathon is a sporting event.
To IPES Zambia, it is a platform for diplomacy.
Every participant represents more than an athlete.
They become ambassadors for healthy living, peaceful coexistence, national unity and international friendship.
Government institutions, diplomatic missions, universities, development partners and businesses meet not around negotiation tables but through a shared public experience.
The Marathon becomes a living demonstration that sport can build relationships where formal diplomacy sometimes cannot.
Running becomes dialogue.
Participation becomes partnership.
Sport becomes diplomacy.
