Programme Overview & Rationale

The Executive Communication, Speech Writing and Rapporteurship Programme develops the professional competencies required to support executive leadership, diplomatic engagements, ministerial meetings, corporate governance processes and international conferences through effective communication and high-quality institutional documentation. In today's governance and development environment, executive leaders rely on skilled communication professionals to prepare speeches, manage official correspondence, document strategic discussions and produce accurate institutional records that inform decision-making and preserve organisational memory. The programme equips participants with practical expertise in executive communication, public speaking, speech writing, official correspondence, minute taking, conference reporting, rapporteurship and executive documentation. Participants learn internationally recognised standards for preparing speeches, briefing notes, meeting records, communiqués and official reports while strengthening professional writing, listening, analytical and presentation skills. Emphasis is placed on strategic communication, executive support, diplomatic protocol, institutional reporting, information management and professional ethics. Through practical simulations, executive briefings, speech-writing laboratories, ministerial meeting exercises and conference reporting simulations, participants develop the confidence and competence required to support senior leaders in government, diplomatic missions, international organisations, corporate institutions and development agencies. Within the Strategic Communication and Public Diplomacy (SCPD) Framework, the programme prepares participants to communicate strategically, document institutional proceedings accurately and provide executive communication support that enhances organisational effectiveness, transparency and informed decision-making.
