Global Health Diplomacy and International Health Governance

The Global Health Diplomacy and International Health Governance Programme is a flagship executive programme designed to develop professional competencies in global health diplomacy, international health governance and multilateral health cooperation. As health challenges increasingly transcend national borders, governments, international organisations and development partners require professionals capable of navigating the complex intersection of public health, foreign policy, diplomacy and international cooperation. The programme equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to engage effectively in international health negotiations, contribute to global health policy development and strengthen national representation within regional and global health governance mechanisms. Participants examine how diplomacy influences health security, pandemic preparedness, disease prevention, health financing, equitable access to medicines, humanitarian response and sustainable health systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding the architecture of global health governance, the mandates of international health institutions, international legal and policy frameworks, diplomatic negotiation, strategic communication and cross-sector collaboration. Through practical simulations, policy analysis and case studies, participants strengthen their capacity to represent governments, international organisations and development institutions in complex health diplomacy environments. Within the National & Global Health Diplomacy Framework, the programme prepares professionals to contribute to evidence-informed health policy, international cooperation and collaborative responses to emerging and persistent global health challenges while advancing national, regional and global health priorities.
